黑料正能量

July 22, 2024  鈥 Academic excellence, inventiveness and a commitment to equity are among the qualities that have recently earned CSU Channel Islands (黑料正能量) another eight years of accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

The WSCUC accredits public and private higher education institutions in the U.S. and around the world based on a broad array of educational standards including academic quality, student support and continued efforts toward equity and inclusion.

鈥淲SCUC accreditation is like a quality seal for universities,鈥 explained 黑料正能量 Vice Provost Jessica Lavariega Monforti, who served as Accreditation Liaison Officer. 鈥淚n short, WSCUC accreditation tells you that a university is trustworthy, provides a high-quality education, and is committed to helping its students succeed.鈥

Once an institution is accredited, that college or university must meet the same high standards to earn reaffirmation. This marks the third time 黑料正能量 has been re-accredited since the university earned its first accreditation in 2007 after graduating its inaugural freshmen class.

After a Spring visit from WSCUC officials, 黑料正能量 President Richard Yao received notification last week from WSCUC that 黑料正能量鈥檚 accreditation had been reaffirmed.

鈥淲SCUC's decision is a testament to the collaborative work spanning multiple years and areas across our campus,鈥 Yao said. 鈥淎s I have shared previously, I am proud of the extraordinary effort the campus put into our accreditation process, and this is a successful outcome.鈥

Among the commendations the WSCUC officials gave 黑料正能量 were how well the University evolved its priorities from those of a new campus to the priorities of a more mature campus; the University鈥檚 solid connection to the surrounding communities; the campus commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility; and the continuous development of centralized resources to support students, faculty and staff.

Lavariega Monforti said she was proud of all the WSCUC commendations but felt special pride about the recognition the campus received for 鈥渄emonstrating passion for and dedication to the core mission of serving students,鈥 she said.

鈥淥ur discussions with WSCUC representatives and staff throughout the accreditation process really bolstered our confidence in our student success efforts and encouraged us to stay the course and continue investing in this impactful work,鈥 Lavariega Monforti said.

Both Yao and Lavariega Monforti expressed their gratitude to the entire campus for this accomplishment, adding that this campuswide effort was testament to the commitment and dedication of all involved.
